North

quick search

Spectacular scenery hits the visitor when travelling north where the island’s famous Tramuntana mountain range extends through to the northern most tip of the island and the Formentor peninsula. Here you will find a beautiful bay and the location of one of the island’s most famous hotels, The Hotel Formentor, which has hosted politicians, celebrities and royalties since 1929 when it first opened. The ancient Roman Town of Pollensa remains an authentic town with a traditional town square (plaza) where a buzzing Sunday market is held further along, Puerto Pollensa remains popular with tourists who love to stroll along the promenade and its famous Pine Walk. Just beyond this coastline the Albuferia Nature Reserve protects a wonderful range of wildlife and birds, some only found here on the Balearics. Further along the coast the Roman Town of Alcudia has been restored to retain many original features and create an attractive pedestrian area. The Port of Alcudia has an excellent marina and is also has a regular ferry service to the neighboring island Menorca.
